The stay

A lush green oasis on the banks of the Okavango River. Guests wake each morning to the calm flow of the Okavango River visible from every chalet. Twenty thatched units offer air conditioning, mosquito nets and private decks where bird calls replace the usual soundtrack. A short walk leads to the cultural village, while the river itself invites catch-and-release fishing or a cruise on the Hakusembe River Queen. The swimming pool, shaded by riverine trees, provides a cool interlude between excursions.

In a tailor-made safari through Namibia, Hakusembe River Lodge serves as the relaxed base for the northern leg of the journey.
