The stay

Lemala Ngorongoro is intimately set in a delightful ancient acacia forest close to the rim of the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. As it is located next to the quiet Lemala crater access road on the eastern side, a key advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro is the quick and easy drive down on to the crater floor in the morning. Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp has 10 spacious tents that are positioned carefully to provide privacy and with minimal impact on the pristine forest environment.

Guests wake early in the quiet acacia forest and step from their tent to the lounge for coffee before the short drive down the eastern access road. After time on the crater floor they return to the mess tent for meals prepared from local produce, then rest in the lounge or recharge devices while the generator hums softly beneath the trees.

A tailor-made safari in Ngorongoro Crater can begin here with an early game drive from the eastern side and continue with full-day explorations supported by the camp’s 4×4 vehicles. All meals and house drinks are provided, allowing travellers to focus on the wildlife without returning to the lodge between activities.
