The stay

Morukuru Family Madikwe consists of three exclusive-use safari houses, situated in a private concession inside the malaria free Madikwe Game reserve. Madikwe is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa, offering a premier Big 5 safari and wildlife destination. Morukuru River House is situated on the banks of the peaceful Marico River, a few 100 meters apart from Owner’s House. With 3 bedrooms en-suite plus a study that can be converted into a children's bedroom (no bathroom) the house can accommodate up to 6 adults and 4 children under 16 years. The 3 bedrooms are adorned with plush king sized beds, sumptuous bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, fireplaces for chilly nights and private balconies. A large living room and dining area, as well as a veranda and private swimming pool complete the experience. All meals, drinks and activities are included, as well as the use of a private game-drive vehicle. Guests at Morukuru River House can also book the sleep-out experience, at no additional costs. Federal Air offers daily shuttle flights between OR Tambo Airport and Madikwe East Airstrip, alternatively a road transfer from Johannesburg to Madikwe takes 4,5 hours.
