The stay

Muzimu Lodge is Gorongosa’s flagship safari camp, set along a curve of the Mussicadzi River. It offers a deeply immersive base from which to explore the park’s diverse ecosystems and wildlife. The lodge features six tented suites designed in classic East African style, offering a quiet, elegant retreat after a day in the bush. Each canvas tent opens onto a private timber deck with views of the surrounding landscape.

Muzimu Lodge places guests in six tented suites, each with its own timber deck overlooking the Mussicadzi River. After a day among Gorongosa’s varied landscapes, the canvas rooms provide a calm space with ceiling fans, mosquito nets and spacious showers. A swimming pool and firepit offer further opportunities to relax, while Wi-Fi and laundry service keep practical needs met.

All meals are included, so a stay at the lodge can be woven into a tailor-made safari without interrupting the rhythm of early game drives and evening returns. The tented suites serve as a quiet base from which to explore the park’s ecosystems at a measured pace.
