Okonjima Plains Camp

The stay

Plains Camp honours the Hanssen family's cattle-farming heritage with its three-tier accommodation facility. The camp features a central Barn area with dining, lounge, and a swimming pool overlooking a natural waterhole and the Okonjima Plains. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the Okonjima Nature Reserve and participating in AfriCat's carnivore conservation activities.

The camp offers a measured, heritage-led stay where the central Barn gathers guests for meals and quiet moments beside the pool, with the waterhole in constant view. Air-conditioned rooms, each with a minibar and tea station, provide a calm retreat after time spent in the reserve, while the curio shop and WiFi keep practical needs met without distraction.

Set within the Okonjima Nature Reserve, the camp anchors a tailor-made safari by placing conservation encounters and guided exploration on the doorstep, allowing AfriCat activities to be woven into each day according to individual interest.
