The stay

Saruni Rhino is a 4-banda camp located in the Sera Conservancy, offering a unique rhino tracking experience on foot. The camp features rustic stone cottages with thatched roofs, situated along a dry riverbed lined with doum palms, providing an intimate and private setting for guests to connect with nature and wildlife.

Saruni Rhino places guests in a small collection of stone cottages set beside a dry riverbed shaded by doum palms. Each cottage offers a private verandah and living area, a cool indoor shower, and a mosquito net draped over the bed, while a shared pool and sunbathing terrace overlook a waterhole visited by passing wildlife. Evenings are spent around the communal fireplace or at the dry-riverbed bar, where the quiet of the conservancy sets the tone for the following day.

In the wider context of a tailor-made safari in Samburu National Reserve, the camp provides a measured base for exploring the reserve and the adjoining Sera Conservancy. Morning and evening drives can be combined with the signature rhino-tracking walks, and the four bandas allow small groups to stay together while still enjoying privacy.
