The stay

Tucked into the riverine forest, Sweni is an intimate retreat cocooned by leaves and overlooking the river. The constant soundtrack of running water, birds and hippos emphasises the flow of nature. Petitely proportioned, the lodge’s seven suites give it its feeling of exclusivity – offering a rare sense of escape and opportunity for personal connection.

Seven suites are hidden among a canopy of trees, each featuring open-plan interiors. A generously stocked minibar, two bathrooms and an outdoor shower overlooking the river – adding to the feeling of being enveloped by an ancient forest. Guests have private access to 33,000 acres of pristine wilderness in the world-renowned Kruger National Park.
